Eisenstein in Guanajuato, directed by the British filmmaker Peter Greenaway, will close the festival on 26 September. This film originally attracted attention at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year. It profiles Sergei Eisenstein (1898-1948), director of some of the most influential films of the twentieth century, such as Battleship Potempkin (1925) or Ivan, the Terrible (1944, 1958). Greenaway focuses on a time when Eisenstein lived in Mexico and had an affair with his tour guide, Jorge Palomino y Cañedo.
